Areas of responsibility: 
As a lead member of the Joint Commissioning Group for Substance Misuse I have a number of responsibilities. My main role is implementation of the commissioning strategy with the detailed work necessary with providers and partners for effective delivery of treatment services. I have a second role in planning and managing the budgets which are pooled to finance the treatment services and DAAT infrastructure to ensure continuity of delivery within the resources available. Monitoring the performance of the treatment services in delivery of the approved DAAT strategy in line with the challenges agreed with the National Treatment Agency gives ongoing feedback on our progress.

Managing various projects for the DAAT and the Safer Communities Board, currently taking the lead on several key areas, which are: User Involvement, Workforce Development, Local Area Agreement for Education, Training, Employment and Housing, the ongoing monitoring of the action plans for underserved groups and Information Sharing within the substance misuse field.  Future projects may include reducing re-offending and Alcohol.
